Clash Of Clans/CCS

Clash of Clans in my opinion is mostly like Capitalism in the sence of trying to be at the top and not worrying about anybody else but yourself. In a capitalistic society most governements dont worry about other countries. Most governments just worry about being the best governement and work on making the most money and being at the top at all times.
In Clash of Clans most people arent worried about how anybody else in the game is doing. Everybody is for themselves. The top players are trying to gain as many trophies as possible so that they can continue to climb up the rankings and be the best.
In my opinion Clash of Clans is most like Capitalism for many different reasons.

Clash Com, Soc, and Cap

when we were playing clash of clans Mr. Kapptie would take everybodies trophys and divide that number by how many kids were in the class making it so that it was scoialistic because nobody was left behing and everybody played a role. he then took the top score minus the lowest score and which ever class had the lowest number one. this was somewhat like capitilism in the sense of the lowest minus the highest being the score of the whole class. also that the high up people had to sacrifice and lose trophies whereas the low end had to try and gain. clash of clans is sorta like a communistic society in the sense of everybody trying to get to the top and battling against everybody. everybody is on there own in this kind of socitey and that is how it is when you are battling to reach the top in this game.

Job Shadow Blog

For my job shadow I went to Rocky Mountain Sports in Cody and shadowed, the manager, Todd. Todd showed me all around the store and explained to me exactly what he did everyday and also taught me how to take inventory and how to restock shelves. Todd has been working at Rocky Mountain Sports for quite some time now and has a lot of expierience because he worked at a sporting goods store in Montana before that. In order to be the manager you really dont need any schooling at all. Todd said the biggest thing is expierience. Recieveing a degree for management or something to that extent is very useful but not necessary. The job prospects for manager of Rocky Mountain Sports looks very good actually. According to my research the job prospects of a retail store manager is actually expected to increase slightyly over time. The average salary for a retail store manager is $54,000. Many make much less than that but some make more than that as well bringing the average to around $54,000.

During my job shadow I learned that being the manager of a very popular store such as Rocky Mountain Sports actually takes a lot work. You have to take inventory, keep everything stocked up, and continue to please customers. My favorite part of this job shadow was that I am an archery hunter and I was able to relater many things with this guy because he is also an archery hunter. The best part was when he let me shoot one of their super nice cross bows.

Nothing about my job shadow was really all that boring. The worst part though was probably the fact that you were always walking around the store and you got tired very easily. The day was slow because it was a week day and many people were at work so we didnt get a whole lot of customers in the store. Not having many customers made it so we were stocking shelves and keeping inventory a whole lot.

The ten questions I asked Todd were:
1. If you dont mind me asking, what is your yearly salary?
2. How many employies do you have as the manager?
3. What is your average number of customers each day?
4. Are you required to wear certain apparel for this job?
5. What do you do for lunch each day?
6. What is the worst expierience that you have gone through as the manager?
7. What is the best expierience that you have gone throught as the manager?
8. Is being the manager of a very busy store stessfull?
9. What does your life outside this job look like?
10. Are you married and if so do you have any kids? Does this make this job harder to be involved in?

Young Adults After The Recession

In my opinion I find it actually good that after the recession young adults are spending less money. Spending less money will help keep young adults out of as much debt so that in the long run they won't have as much money to pay off. Many people are in a lot of financial debt and this can affect them for a very long time but if young adults stay out of this debt they will be better off. Some may argue that not as many jobs can be created this way but I don't believe it will affect the jobs by that much. In conclusion I think it is actually a very good thing that young adults are spending less money.

Entrepreneur Article Post

By reading the articles about the young people who started their own businesses or invented something on their own I learned that young people are very capable of starting a new business and also that while living with their parents they really have nothing to lose by do so. Two different teens started their own small businesses that helped them make a very good amount of money. I found that starting these small businesses as a teen is a very good idea. The teen who started the heart exam for a cell phone had literally nothing to lose and a lot to gain. This child invented something that will most likely benefit her in the long run. In conclusion being a young entrepreneur is a very good idea and has a small chance of actually hurting you financially.

Entrepreneur

In my opinion, the best way for a young adult to understand how a business can be important is for him or her to start their own business. Starting their own business can help them become more responsible and also more understanding of finances. Starting a business that is small and practical would be the best way to go so that you can be your own boss and still be alright financially. Starting a large business at a young age will usually cause a inexpierienced entrepreneur to be either bankrupt or in very large debt in only a few years. Doing this can help someone out in many ways though, making money, learning responsibility, and being honest when it comes to customers. Many young people may have the problem of starting too large but they will soon learn and down grade which will help them out immensely. In conclusion, the best way for a teen to get out and see the world and how it works is to start a business in my opinion.

Credit Card Video Summary

I think that there was three very interesting things about the credit card video. The first is that most students will spend all of there money during college and not actually try to save for after college. The second one is that most students are offered many different kinds of credit cards and will aften take them which can cause them to go into big debt and also have a very bad affect on their credit score. The final fact that I found interesting is that during college more students drop out because of financial problems than do because of grades.

Journal Week One

For the first week of investopedia I decided to buy the stock Anheiser Busch. Anheiser Busch has a been continually been making a profit for the last five years and according to the estimated end of year stock cost it will be up even more. Judging by the statistics that I researched about Anheiser Busch I figured that it would be a very good stock to buy. I bought 200 shares at $97.75 a share.

Lemonade Stand Blog

After playing the lemonade stand game i ended up making a larger profit of $100 which was the goal. My net profit was decent and my production cost per cup of lemonade was 14 cents per cup. At 14 cents per cup i could make anywhere from 2 to 22 cents per cup depending upon the weather. Buying an excess of perishable goods would aften hurt the ammount of money you made. The ice would often melt, the lemons would aften spoil, and the sugar would get bugs in it. So buying the right ammount helped you save money because nothing was wasted. For example, if you bought 500 ice cubes and used 250 you would waste half of them because the rest would melt. Because of this i tried to buy the correct ammount each time, i bought 100 cups, 50 lemons, 56 sugars, and 1000 ice cubes. i normally did not see anything perish so i figured i had figured out the best amount of goods to help keep me from loosing money. the weather was a very large variable also in this game. the temperature was very big and also the type of day, the day was either clear, sunny, rainy, overcast, or hazy. having so many different variables of weather made it so that you had to know exactly how many goods to buy and also how much each cup should cost. the last determining factor of how i was able to make over $100 was that by the end of the game i had a very good popularity. at the begining of the game my popularity was low but by the end i was near a 100% popularity making it so that i sold lemonade easier and made a better profit. by having a higher profit the willingness of people to buy my lemonade went up.

Business Idea Blog

One business idea that I have been thinking of is a sporting goods store. Owning a sporting goods store in Wyoming where there are a lot of outdoors kind of people I believe I could attract a lot of different customers if I sold the correct things. I am interested in owning a sporting goods store because I hunt, camp, fish and do many outdoors activities and I know how nice it would be to have a store in your home town that you could buy all of your outdoor needs at and not have to go somewhere else when you are getting ready to go to the outdoors. I think with the right inverntory I could earn a good income because many people in Wyoming are outdoors people and if you sell the correct thing these people will normally buy them. My dad and one of my dad's friends could both be helpful in starting this business because they both do a lot of hunting and other outdoor activities and they would know the correct thing for me to have in my store in order for me to make a profit and be a succesful business.

Candy Stock Blog

Yesterday I came to class and we were not allowed inside until Mr. Kapptie opened the door and said head in. I really didn't know what was going on but I was told that we were supposed to collect as much money and candy as possible. I ran in and gathered all the money and candy that I could and I put it in a pile on my desk still not knowing exactly what was going on. Mr. Kapptie went to the board and wrote each piece of candy on the board and wrote down what each one of them was worth. At this point I had began to find out that we were supposed to be buying and selling candy in the form of stocks. Every couple of minutes Mr. Kapptie would change the value of each piece of candy just as stocks did, the value went up and down. During this time we had two candy companies merge as one candy company, we had one candy company do a 2 for 1 split meaning that for every one piece of candy you had it was worth 2 times the stock value, and we also had one candy company file for bancrupcy causing the price of it's stock or candy to go down by a lot and be worth almost nothing. As the time went on some people were buying the candy that was worth the most money and others were trying to sell all of their candy for a good price so that they had a lot of money. This activity was just like the stock market in the way that each piece of candy was considered a stock and at any given time the worth of that stock could go up or down. By the end of class we had all down some trading trying to earn better stocks and more money. This activity taught me a lot about how the stock market works and how you need to be careful with what stocks you buy and sell because some can earn you a lot of money and some can lose you a lot of money.

Valentines Day Blog

I believe that we spend too much money on valentines day. Most people will buy something for valentines day and the next year they will be expected to do it again but they will be expected to spend more the following year. Most people will spend over $100 dollars on only one person and I think this is way too much. I think Christmas is a better holiday to spend that much money on than valentines day.

Yesterday's activity

Yesterday we had some kids in the class be parents and other kids be the parents kids. The kids paired up according to what their paper said their personalities were and they brought their new boyfriend or girlfriend to their parent. The parents had to sit and listen to the kids and they then were allowed to ask questions. Some of the kids were very successful kids who were on their way to something good and others still lived at home and weren't going to accomplish anything at all. The parents in the end had to choose wether they thought that their child was allowed to date this other kid or not.
This activity tied into class and stocks because it taught you that you cannot just take something because it looks good right away. It taught you that if you are looking at purchasing stocks you first need to research and find out wether this stock would be a good one to invest in. Like the parents asking questions and finding things out you must do the same with stocks. You must make sure you know what sorta stocks you are buying and how they can earn you money.

Investopedia Blog

After losing $100 dollars on Investopedia I found out that my money had gone to commission. Since I bought 5 different stocks from different companies I lost $100 dollars with commission being $20 dollars per purchase.

Clash of Clans Blog

1. Yesterday we went over Clash of Clans. We discussed what we believed to be the best troop and what reasons we had for thinking this. This activity was good because it will help with improving my Clash of Clans because I now know the formula for discovering the best and most effective troops.
2. I would most likely discuss with an adult the reason for playing Clash of Clans and how it helps with making choices. For example, I would tell the adult how it takes thinking and money management to play Clash of Clans because you have to know what troops to use to save money but also be very effective.
3. My partner and I chose the Barbarian as the Clash of Clans M.V. Clan Warrior. We chose the Barbarian because it is cheap to train, it has a short training time, it attacks anything, and it is very efficient considering it is quick to train and it is cheap to train.

Martin Luther King Opinion Post

I agreed with Martin Luther King's opinion in the article written by The Washington Post. Martin Luther King had many opinions but one time he had a philosophy about nonviolence and I really agreed with this opinion. One day when king was reading he saw a picture of a child in a different country that was poverty stricken and very skinny. King stated that no food would ever taste good until he helped all the poverty stricken children in different countries. I agree with him about the fact that there are many poverty stricken children who are going hungry and need help. There were many other things in this article that Matin Luther King talked about and I agreed with him as well.

Bank Choice

If I had to choose between the six banks I would choose the Ally Online Bank. This bank has the best everything. The checking interest and savings interest are both the best out of the six. The ATM fees, overdraft fees, and minimum balance are also the best out of the six banks. With interest rates you want them to be as high as possible and with Ally they. With ATM fees, and overdraft fees the lower the fee the more money you save and Ally has the lowest so you will be saving money. Having a low minumum balance allows you to not have a whole lot of money and still keep the account open. In conclusion Ally is a very good choice in my opinion and it is my top bank choice.

Colbee's Video Opinion

I thought these videos were very interesting. Seeing how it doesn't take a whole lot of try to start something great was motivating. The girl in the first video was able to start an organization that has raised millions of dollars by basically just starting a website which got the word out. This girl was motivated to do something great and she is now very successful and has helped many people just by wanting to do something good. The two boys in the second video were willing to ask one simple question which got them into a position of owning a multi million dollar company. One of their college proffesors metioned one day that you could grow mushrooms in coffee grounds so they decided to ask him a little more about it. Pretty soon they were growing mushrooms together and selling them to stores. Within a short time these to boys had created a company that was worth millions and they had turned themselves into very successful people. I learned from these two videos that most young people have a better chance to try something new and accomplish something great. I also learned that all it takes is a little motivation to try something new and you could become very successful just like these people have done and also that you have nothing to lose by trying something new such as this.
